Crash test in brosh jacket
I let a friend of mine borrow my 'Summer jacket' by Brosh-tex a few weeks ago. Some of you may have thought about getting one (about $80 delivered). Well, of course, he went down last week, on the highway, skidding at about 45-50 mph.Unfortunately, it doesn't protect against broken wrists, but he said he thanks God he was wearing the jacket! The material scraped through the outer lining, all the way to the KEVLAR® armor, then stopped. He didn't even feel heat from the friction of sliding. He got up and walked away, stunned, but zero road-rash. |

If this is how it works, sliding down I-35 at 50 mph, I'd say it might be the best $70 - $80 you can spend. The jacket is very lightweight, vented, and you can buy optional plastic armor, although he obviously didn't need it. BTW, he's wearing a cast for the next 6 weeks, and is pissed that just as the weather cools down here in Dallas, he can't ride. Coulda been worse! Guess I'm buying another jacket this week!!!
